Cal Princesa: The charm in the rural world
Cal Princesa was reconstructed from an ancient farmhouse, in the surroundings of Bellvís, in the year of 1930 in the middle of a great property, were cows pasture. Recently, this masía (rural house), where the former owners used to live, has been completely transformed, to be rented by those who would like to enjoy it and visit the zone.
The masía has always being known as "Cal Princesa" (Princess´ House), and it is located in the municipality of Bellvís. Bellvís is a word that comes from the Latin "bellu visu", that means "beautiful sight" and it appears in documents of the year 1170. Nevertheless archaeological discoveries prove that there was christian activity at Bellvís before the VII century.
At Bellvís in the year 1190, there was an apparition of the "Mare de Déu de les Sogues" (Mother of God of the Ropes), and from that moment that image has been the focus of great veneration. There is so much fervour that, during the pilgrimages and peregrinations that are celebrated at the Old Trinitarian Convent since 1583, devout persons come from more than 40 municipalities of different regions.
